Spaghetti with Meatballs

Spaghetti with Mealballs is a classic dish in every Italian home. And we definitely have got to feature one of these – only it’s simpler, and healthier. Perfect for kids!

Ingredients (for 2)


  • 1 tbsp of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Small Clove of Garlic, Diced
  • ½ Small Head of Red Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Small Carrot, Peeled and Chopped
  • 2 tbsp of Curtice Brothers Ketchup
  • 200ml of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 100ml of Water
  • 1 tsp of Honey
  • 1 tsp of Dried Oregano
  • ½ tsp of Salt
  • ½ tsp of Black Pepper


  • 200g of Minced Beef
  • 3 tbsp of Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ tsp of Salt
  • ½ tsp of Dried Oregano

Serve with:

  • Cooked Spaghetti


  1. Preheat oven at 200C
  2. Mix minced beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt and oregano, shape into 10 meatballs
  3. Bake in the oven for 12 – 15 minutes
  4. In a pot, add vegetable oil, and start by frying the onions, garlic and carrots for 3 minutes, until the onions turn translucent
  5. Add in the ketchup, the crushed tomatoes and water
  6. Lower the heat and season with salt, pepper, oregano and honey, and simmer for 15 minutes
  7. Place meatballs into the sauce and give it a good stir, serve over cooked spaghetti
